Barrio Fiesta

Pak!!!
Robin, Quishan and Johanna
Ang tagal ko ng hindi nakakain dito sa Barrio Fiesta, last time na kumain kami dito was 5 years ago pa at hindi na nasundan dahil medyo hindi namin nagustuhan ang mga pagkain dito sa branch nila sa may Caloocan. I remember that time na super disappointed ako sa kanilang ipinagmamalaking Kare-Kare na mas masarap pang di hamak ang luto ng aking lola Sion. Anyway, this time ay may malaking improvement na ang lasa ng kanilang Kare-Kare pero hindi pa rin pasado sa akin.
Kare-Kare

Crispy Pata
Eto naman ay talagang nakakagana, because it was perfectly cook.
Super crunchy yet soft ang meat inside :) yummy!

The Fried Chicken
It was okay but nothing to rave about.

Binalot na Tilapia
Steamed fish with onions and tomato inside...
Hubby liked it :)

Healthy siyang kainin di ba?

Lumpiang Ubod
Uy! I love this one...

mga sawsawan...
Bagoong, toyo'y kalamansi at ketchup!

at siyempre ang aming dessert...
Leche Flan!!!

Nathaniel's Revisited

Last Sunday, after attending the christening of Quishan in Marilao me and hubby headed to Pampanga (yes that far!) hehehe. We suddenly craved for the famous Nathaniel's Buko Pandan and so kahit medyo mahal ang toll fee ay go kami ni hubby to satisfy our cravings. Their store is located at Olongapo-Gapan Road, San Fernando Pampanga and you can easily noticed their big oval green signage.

Inside the store, you can choose different delicacies ideal for pasalubong.

From Buko Pandan, Maja, Mochi, pastillas, yema, cakes etc. they have it :)

They have cakes too, but I haven't tried any of them yet.

The dining area is big, compare to Susie's.
(We first went there, but wala na silang Tibok-tibok)

Customers lined-up to order and pay to the cashier.

Well these were the yummy treats that we bought :)

The famous Buko Pandan with carabao's milk, kaya mas creamy sya!
(talagang dinayo namin ito, hihihi...)

Well, their lasagna and baked mac is simple the best! We only bought one order for P 70.00 each (per styro) we didn't realized that it will be that good :( sad because hindi ko pa nabili yung isang pan worth P 500.00 only, yet super heavy siya at yummy talaga...we'll be back for these two for sure :)

(Better than Greenwich Lasagna and baked mac) IMHO!

The bake mac is P 70.00 per order (parang isang llanera and size)
We also bought Mochi (for the first time) hubby liked it,
for me, ok lang hindi kasi ako gaano mahilig sa ganito :)
Maja is also good...

etong Yema, sinadya ko din, because it taste so good too!

Well, we (with the kids) pig-out with these pag-uwi namin.

Ikaw? Kailan mo dadayuhin ang Nathaniel's?

This is my reward

This is one of the reasons ng aking blog break.

1st grading grades nya :)

Chicken and Pork BBQ

We had these for lunch today. Sinipag si Justine mag-ihaw because he wants to eat pork (liempo) BBQ, si Jeff naman ay chicken BBQ ang request kaya ayan, binili ko na pareho ang mga requests nila. (mahirap baka magtampo ang isa eh) hehehe...

Masarap kumain!
Pero hinay-hinay pa rin ako, I don't want to experience again yung
stomach ache na naranasan ko 2 weeks ago.
Wahehehe na-trauma ba?

Kain tayo!!!

Ikaw? Anong lunch mo today?

What's in a box?

Well this is not new to you guys. This is the box of the Banana cake that I ordered from my friend Gaye. The first packaging that she used was a big round clam shell. But I find this new packaging more cute.

This time, I ordered the one with raisins.
She called this Monkey Bait w/ Raisins

I know that my blogger friend Dj will be drooling about this, hehehe...

This was good, but we find the taste a little bit different this time. Yun pala, she soaked the raisins in brandy, kaya pala medyo may something sa taste. Eh we were not used syempre sa taste ng brandy kaya hindi gaano gusto ng mga kids. Pero Gaye's friends from Cebu Pacific like this one.
I told Gaye about this, and to my surprised, she baked a new one for us na yung basic recipe nya ang ginamit. Oh my, I super love this girl!!!

A visit at Conti's

We love Conti's. Hubby and I always look forward in visiting this restaurant. 2 years ago, we celebrate our anniversary here and we had so much fun coz we won a Mango Royale Salad in one of their gimik that day (hearts week yon eh). We always order Baked Salmon for hubby and my all-time favorite Chicken Roulade, you'll never go wrong with these two. Occasionaly we drop by at this store to buy some pastries and hubby's fave Mango Bravo. Two Sundays ago, after lunch, we went to Trinoma to buy something. I asked hubby if we could have dessert at Conti's since I love their cakes and I know that hubby's craving for their Mango Bravo in a major major way...hahaha!!!

Hubby's Mango Bravo
One of the store's bestsellers...

I had Viennese Mocha Torte

and I also had Fettuccine Carbonara

The slice of the cake is big and can be shared by two people. But I was disappointed with the pasta because the servings is not good for sharing, sobrang konti for the price of P 195.00.
Everytime we dine here kasi ay dinner ang punta namin. So it's the first time that we came here to eat at around 2 pm. Upon entering the store parang hindi ko na feel ang ambience that I was expecting (homey feeling ba). Instead, crowded siya (always naman) pero somehow I felt that the store is not that tidy. When our order came, I've noticed that the plates too have some stains sa side. Hmmmm.... anyway, we still finished our cakes and I patiently finished eating my carbonara.
Monday morning, I was downed with severe stomach ache, and I can't help but to go back and forth to our bathroom. I was really sick. I did not eat anything after that and did not eat dinner too because I feel very full and bloated. So I was wondering kung may problem ba sa kinain ko? I was just sharing my experience and thoughts.
I love their cakes though!
Especially these Mango Bravos!!!

Pastries!

Want some?

Conti's Trinoma Branch

Ikaw? What's your Conti's experience?

A short pause

Whew! After exactly 2 weeks of blog break, I find myself infront of my pc, looking for pictures that I'm going to resize and this time have some adrenalin rush to start blogging again. I don't know what happened, but in the past weeks I don't feel like creating an entry nor visit blogs of my friends. Maybe I was too busy making reviewers for the 2nd monthly test of Jeffrey ( thank God the exam is over...today!) Two weeks ago, I was able to get his report card for the first grading period and it was very rewarding for me to see his grades (i'll share it to you guys;). Hmmm... last week, my OB gave me my last shot of cervical cancer vaccine (endorsed by Kris A. hahaha!) It was quite painful that's why I can't move my upper arm that much. Also, two weeks ago, I suffered severe stomach pain and a LBM (hehehe) I'm afraid that I got it from the food that we ate in one of our fave family restaurant in Trinoma :(
Anyway, I'm okay now, the exam is over, no more aches (hehehe) and will start kicking again!!! Miss you guys....so much!!!

Perfect Quizzes = Fries and Funshots

The other day, super happy si Jeff na lumabas ng gate ng school pagsundo ko sa kanya. He told me that he got perfect scores in his three quizzes.

A bucket of fries and a large funshots for the three of us.
(Hubby, me and Jeff) wala pa kasi si kuya eh.

Solve ang merienda!!!
Kain tayo!!!

Judy Ann Crispy Pata

Yesterday, I was not able to go to the market in the morning because may lulutuin pa kaming ulam for lunch. Naisip ko to buy chicken BBQ for our dinner na lang. So ayun, go kami ni hubby sa Gen. Luna St., in Malabon where we can buy the famous Judy Ann Crispy Pata at Jamicos Restaurant.

Anyway, nai-burn na niya kaninang umaga yung kinain niya last night, hehehe...

We ordered the jumbo size for P 450.00

Masarap siya! Kaya dinadayo talaga ang kanilang crispy pata. Ang maganda sa kanila ay you can order in advance basta itawag mo lang ahead of time at ready na for pick-up kapag kinuha mo sa kanila. It was perfectly cooked! The skin was very crispy and the meat was juicy. (Hindi siya "tayantang" or dry) The taste is very good too, medyo sweet na balanced sa kanyang sawsawan na suka at spicy sauce.

The friendly staff, Joan and Lorna at the counter :)

Walang taong kumakain nung pumunta kami because karamihan ay
puro take-out ng Crispy Pata.

It was featured na rin pala in a food magazine. They told me that this coming Tuesday at 10:00 pm ay QTV 11's Tara Let's Eat will feature them on their show hosted by Tonipet Gaba.

This is their place located at Gen. In between them is a Dental Clinic owned by Dr. Judy Ann, an Orthodontist where the famous Judy Ann Crispy pata were named.
Ikaw?
