Kamay ni Hesus - Lucban Quezon

Last Good Friday we leave Manila at exactly 4:00 am for our Quezon getaway. Hubby has been planning this trip for so long and its only this year that this trip became possible. The highlight of our trip is to visit the famous shrine of Kamay ni Hesus located at the slopes of Mount Banahaw. We followed the Quezon route in going there and glad that we arrived in Lucban safely at 8:00 am.

While we were in Tayabas, we saw a lot of people walking on the side of the road, looks like many of them is doing their yearly Panata of walking to their place all the way to Kamay ni Hesus in Lucban, it's not easy since it took us 30 minutes drive or more from Tayabas to Lucban.
We arrived at Kamay ni Hesus at around 8:00 am but decided to have our breakfast first in the town proper since there's a lot of people lining up infront of the gate and there was a heavy traffic in the vicinity.

While reaching the poblacion, we've noticed the street sign...
Wow! that's my middle name...hehehe...

I've learned from my lola who came with us in the trip, that some of my relatives in the father side lives here. But sad to say, I don't know any of them since I grew up in Malabon with my mom's side. My dad's family lives in Daet, Camarines Norte.

We first visit the Lucban Church, prayed and give thanks to the Lord for our safe journey in going there.

I Like the facade of the church.

The interior was newly painted, some of the seats are on the side to give way to the carozas that will participate in the procession that night.

Our family with Lola, Yeye and Jigo (jeff and justine's cousin)

After visiting the church, we go back to Kamay ni Hesus
(this pic was taken on the 2nd day kaya hindi na ganon kadami ang tao)

This was the scene on Good Friday, paakyat pa lang, pila na! Sobrang haba ng pila, I heard one of the guy said na nakapila malapit na sa gate 1 na baka daw abutin na sila ng 3:00 pm eh around 10:00 pa lang yon so just imagine kung gaano ang taong nakapila paakyat ng bundok. So hubby and I decided to just go there the next morning, buti na lang at may accommodation kami sa isang resort hotel doon.

The statue of Mama Mary facing the statue of the Risen Christ.

My three boys...

Since we're not able to climb on the first day, we decided to just take pics on some of the images located at the foot of the hill.

Garden of Eden

Added attraction na lang daw ito, dahil dati ay wala naman nito according to people who visited the place several times already.

O di ba, talagang para kang nasa Garden of Eden.

with animals pa...
Noah's ark...

Ayan, mag-uumpisa na kaming umakyat!
Si lola (83 years old) ready na rin.

There's a jar, pag naka-shoot ka ng coin, mag wish ka daw para magkatotoo.

The Last Supper

Breathtaking ang view kapag nasa tuktok ka na!

Imagine the feeling of being able to climb the 292 steps hill. The feeling is indescribable and awesome! I'm happy because my lola who's 83 years old was able to reached the top of the hill.

The 50-foot statue of the Risen Christ which according to Jeff, napanood daw niya sa TV na it's the 3rd biggest in the world. Ang sabi ko sa kanya anak ang alam ko 2nd ito, sabi nya, "no mommy, it's the 3rd"!!!

We stayed there for about 15 minutes to rest at bumaba na din kami.

Pieta

Before leaving Kamay ni Hesus, dumaan muna kami sa chapel to pray and give thanks!
It was a very nice and fulfilling experience, I consider this journey as one of the best!
