Rose Bowl - Harrison Rd. Baguio

Rose Bowl Baguio

Dito sa Rose Bowl kami dumayo since this was included in our itinerary. Rose Bowl ay isa sa oldest Chinese Restaurant dito sa Baguio ang they are famous for their Chopsuey and Patatim.

Rose Bowl 2

Halos half ng plate ang chopsuey same with the patatim and yung rice eh ang laki ng cup.

Carlo's Pizza - CJH Baguio

Carlo's Pizza CJH

Grabe ang sakit na ng tiyan ko kakakain, kaso I can’t say no to my husband’s request to eat at Carlo’s Pizza. He’s been wanting to try it late last year pa sa Tagaytay kaso pagdating ng merienda time ay talagang busog na kami. So ngayong nandito kami sa Baguio, hindi na nya pinalagpas ang chance to try their famous pizza which they called Capriccioso which consist of bacon, salami, ham, bacon, Italian sausage, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers and onion. We ordered a 9” regular size which is good for 2-3 persons na, we were so full na kasi sa dami ng kinain namin.

Capriccioso
masarap sya talaga!!! you guys must try it...

Fiorgelato

Fiorgelato store

After a sumptuous lunch… I asked my hubby to go to SM Baguio and look for some panghimagas…bitin ako sa complimentary dessert eh…hahaha….
Gusto ko ng ice cream so we headed to the third floor to look for a kiosk that serves delicious ice cream. Until I remember there’s a gelato there.

My gelato

I ordered for a small cup of strawberry ice cream for just P 35.00 and it’s a sure steal! Sobrang sarap pala ng strawberry flavor nila with really chunks of strawberry in it!

But since I have a diabetic husband with me, so problema ko kung ako lang ang kakain di ba? To my surprise they also have sugar free ice cream too! I ordered the same flavor for my husband and it taste good too. There’s a very slight difference lang cause they used different sweetener in it. But he really enjoyed his gelato too, he swears!

Cafe By The Ruins

One of our agenda kaya kami nag-celebrate ng wedding anniv sa Baguio ay para na rin sa food trip namin. We want to experience the ambiance and the taste of the food sa Café By the Ruins.

Cafe by the Ruins

Cool ang ambience dito, most of the furniture were made of wood and bamboo. It is called Café by the Ruins dahil sa old walls na natira during the war. It was an old house from a governor from Benguet. Poets and artist usually dine here, share ideas at ipakita ang kanilang mga talents kaya marami kang makikitang paintings sa walls nila.

I ordered Tita Susie’s Crispy Tapa, shredded beef that is fried into perfection kaya medyo crispy siya. Medyo natatabangan ako sa kanya, pero masarap yung vegetable on the side – tomato, onion and lettuce, masarap din yung mountain rice nila and the soup that I think was made from chicken stock.

For my hubby, he ordered the Healthy Food for the day. Which consist of Fried Tilapia (I hope canola or olive oil ang ginamit nila) boiled okra, sitaw and eggplant with buro on the side, it is served also with ginisang mongo and a cup of their mountain rice.

I ordered for this drink – Pandan Lemon Iced Tea with Honey.

They also offer breads and pastries.

I noticed sa café na ito they personally knew most of their customers. Nakikipag-usap talaga sila sa mga customers nila. I admitted to them that, it was our first time sa café nila, kaya they treated us so well, assist us in everything we wanted, and they really let us feel comfortable, nung nakita nung isang waiter na nagbugaw ako ng isang istorbong langaw, aba kumuha agad sya ng small candle at sinindihan nya’t inilagay sa side ng table namin… sana lahat ng restaurant ay ganito ka attentive ang mga staff. What made my day is that they even gave us a complimentary dessert.

My verdict: good food, nice ambience, great customer service!

Food Trip Namin sa Baguio

Next i'll be posting pics of the restaurants that we've visited. I'll just try to arrange it para naman hindi kayo maguluhan...

Baguio Market - Pasalubong Express

I bought 10 kilos (P 700.00) para sa fruitshake store ko at inilagay nila sa styro box which they charge for P 20.00.

Strawberries!

Baguio - Pasalubong

Pasalubong - Romana

BUT !!!!

There’s a new peanut brittle named “BAGUIO PARADISE” at ang kanyang packaging ay very similar sa Romana. The lady told me na magkalasa lang sila ng Romana, hindi naman ako naniwala kasi nakalakihan ko na yung tatak na iyon eh. Pero for curiosity sake ay bumili na rin ako, kasi yung small bottle ay 3 for 100 lang naman so I give it a try. Grabe! So guys, next time you’ll visit Baguio and looking for a cheap but delicious peanut brittle ay highly recommended ko ang “BAGUIO PARADISE”.

"SUNDOT KULANGOT"
Sundot Kulangot
Yuck! Sabi ng bunso ko…

WALIS TAMBO
Walis

EVERLASTING
Everlasting
I bought 3 pcs. of everlasting flower para sa Poon namin.

UBE JAM
Good Shepherd - Ube Jam

STRAWBERRY JAM
Sugar Free Strawberry Jam

Good Shepherd Convent and their famous Ube Jam

Cameron Forbes which was built in 1917.

Good Shepherd Convent

The best for pasalubong. One of my friend told me that they don’t put artificial color in their ube jam. At ang kanilang ube ay grown specially for them here in Northern Luzon. Pero I noticed that their Ube Jam in Tagaytay has slightly difference taste.

Photobucket
Baguio and Tagaytay

Eto ang kanilang product line bukod sa ube jam, angel cookies, strawberry jam at peanut brittle mayroon na rin silang mango jams, cashew brittle, cashew nuts, peanuts, guyabano and sampaloc candies, pickles and pickle relishes, orange marmalade, strawberry juice, etc.

GSC - Waiting for my goodies

Long line of People at GSC

They also have a nice view deck, kung ayaw mong makipagsiksikan sa Mines View ay okay ding magpunta dito sa GSC.
