The Caramel Bakeshop

The Caramel Bakeshop is a decent store that sells good quality baked goodies.
They occupy the first floor of the building,
we didn't try fryer's (restaurant) next visit na lang siguro:)

O di ba? They have nice selections of cakes...

They also have petite cakes :)

Their brownies looks yummy too!

Their specialty is the Choco Caramel Cake...
We bought a big one para mabaon namin sa Ilog.

I'll try their Moist Choco cake next time :)

We wanted to experience some dining places in Bicol so buti na lang at inaya kami ni daddy dito sa Ksarap! The place is cool, hindi ko ma-imagine na may ganito na palang food establishment sa Daet that can equal (or surpassed) some of the good dining places here in Manila in terms of food and service.

I love the staff, they are very courteous at talagang always ready sa mga customers nila. Anyway, here are some of the pictures taken at Ksarap!

Our group... waiting for our orders!

( P 90.00 for 2 grilled porkchops!!!)

The noodles were good also!
with meatballs on the side...

I liked the generous amount of rice :)
The best part of Ksarap for me was the dessert!
Super sarap at super mura!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I love you mom!!!

Daet's Pride - First Rizal Monument

I am very proud when I learned that the very first Rizal monument was erected in the hometown of my dad. Two years after Rizal's execution at Luneta Park in Manila, this obelisk was erected thru the effort and contributions of the townsfolk in 1898 and they became the first province to celebrate Rizal Day.

This monument does not bear any of his sculptured images. I remember in one of the books that i've read in college, Rizal just want a simple tombstone when he dies, nothing fancy nothing special and this obelisk I think was just perfect for his wish.

Pride of Bicolanos!

Daet Camarines Norte

My dad and mom separated when I was still a baby, dad then decided to go back to his province and moved on. He visits me and my brother occasionally when we were young but we never got the chance to see his beautiful town. My grandfather was afraid na baka hindi na kami isauli kapag hiniram daw kami ni daddy, hehehe... Anyway, now that we have our own family me and my kuya decided that we will visit our dad often as long as he has time to drive all the way to Bicol, hahaha... we also wanted our kids to have quality time with their grandpa of course!
Daet is the capital and a first class municipality in Cam Norte. Actually, it's like Manila also wherein you can also find Jollibee, Greenwich, Chowking in the busy area of the town. They have a nice and clean Kapitolyo (below)

A very nice park in front of the Kapitolyo

Oh, I forgot the name of the church beside LCC-Daet

It was a surprise that there's a big La Consolacion College - Daet

Daet's Provincial Hospital

I love the beauty of the greenfields...

Pinyahan.... Daet's pineapple is famous for being small but sweet in taste. It is said that this kind of pinapple is only produced in Camarines Norte. They celebrate a Pineapple Festival during the month of June according to dad.

Jeffrey wants to take a ride in this water buffalo...

I'll share with you next the "pasyalan" where the kids really enjoy the experience :)

Road to Daet

Just like this one, this is the Zigzag Road in Atimonan Quezon. This place is very famous also for their caves and waterfalls according to my uncle. :)

And because of its curves that are so tight at sa super steep na road, may mga taong (labas?) naka-posisyon with flags na kanilang winawagayway to serve as your guide in going up and going down.

You can also find here the site of Pinagbanderahan... Sinasabing ang mga rebolusyonaryong taga Quezon who fought against the Spaniards planted a Philippine flag on top of the mountain as a sign of their triumph.

This park encompasses the town of Atimonan, Pagbilao and Padre Burgos.

What a breathtaking view!

Hanggang sa makarating kami ng Daet, Yehey!!!
(and that's another story...)

Books, Books, Books....
